Where in Ireland should you live with kids?

Somewhere within walking distance of a bus/train route would be my advice ie near a town/city. Unless you like driving half way around the country every weekend taking/fetching your kids to and from places. I love the countryside and I live in a really rural place around 3 miles from the nearest town (pop <1000) but the downside is I spend a lot of time driving my teenage kids around, they want to go to the cinema, meet their friends and who can blame there. There is just one bus a day that leaves early morning for Cork and returns in the evening, that is it so even if they catch that on a Saturday I have 2, 6 mile round trips just taking and fetching them from town that is before I do anything I want to do. If you plan on moving to Ireland you might be better to wait until the recession is over, there are very few jobs right now and the cost of living is sky high.

Im 16 and I live in the suburbs of Dublin. A place called Coolock. It is a safe area and I have had a very happy childhood here as most kids would. It has many housing estates and everything is in walking distance such as a shopping centre park, swimming pool, cinema and pubs for the adults. There are also heaps of schools around the area. It only takes about 20-25 minutes on the bus into Dublin City Centre. Im sure this would be a satisfactory place for you to live. Hope this helps :)

A suburb of Dublin Would be the best place. eg: Kilcock , Lucan I live in a Dublin suburb I'm 14 and have had a great childhood here. Cinemas, Swimming Pools, Great Schools, Nice Restaurants, Lots of places to shop and Most things are within walking distance.

Is it possible for a british person to live and work freely in ireland without applying for a visa?

you're going to need a visa. and you're going to need to be the age of what the other nation considers to be that of a legal "adult" now, last thing...why the hell would you wanna work in ireland? i hear their job market's in the crapper.
3 :
If you hold a British passport you do not need a visa to live and work in Ireland. Your and EU citizen. You won't get a job in Ireland at age 16 under the Irish labour laws.Employers must see a copy of the young person's birth certificate or other evidence of his or her age before employing that person. If the young person is under 16, the employer must get the written permission of the person's parent or guardian.Employers must keep records for every employee aged under 18 including details of the employee’s starting and finishing times for work.

Yes, since you have the additional European citizenship which grants you the right to freely travel to, reside, and work in every country of the European Union you would not need a visa to live and work in Ireland. You just must register with the local authorities if you stay longer than 90 days and get a residence card. Whether you will need parental consent for moving to Ireland depends on the Country you are living in. Scottish people would not need it since they have reached the age of majority at 16 years. Being English or Welsh you would need parental approval. From an age of 16 years you may work 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week; there some restrictions on start and end time as well as for breaks based on the youth protection law. It also works the other way round since Irish citizens have the same European rights. Yes you can! As a member of the EU you are free to work, live and study within any EU member state. You will however need to contact Irish Social Services and set up an RSI number for yourself. This works like a tax file number and allows the country to keep track of your medical, education and work record.

How do I find a serene place to live in Ireland

How do I find a serene place to live in Ireland?
Hello, I would like to spend the Winter (and probably Autumn as well) in Ireland and would like to rent an apartment in a calm area with beautiful nature. How do I find a place like that? Housing websites focus on the big cities. I live in London now and will move to another major city in Spring, and in the meantime I would like to enjoy a more serene place and spend my days writing, translating, and enjoying nature. Any help much appreciated!

You can go to: Dublin(Bailе Аtha Cliath) and find an apartment!
2 :
My favorite area is Co. Mayo, especially Westport. Decide on an area and then do a Google search such as: Ireland Mayo rent "estate agent". Follow up when you find something suitable.
3 :
try daft.ie they have houses for sale and to let all over the country, many in quieter villages. I just viewed a property to let in Co Mayo overlooking Clew Bay. Looked gorgeous
