I live in ireland and got a wii game from america as a present why wont it work?
it there something i can down load its saying cant read disc

it won't work because the games are region locked. you can only play Wii games from your region (region 2 I believe. whatever region your DVDs are from, but DVD movies will not work on the system. I'm just using that as a reference).

I imagine there is something you can do to make it work but it will probably risk killing your wii. Games, and DVDs have region protection to only work where they are bought. This helps the manufacturer control what prices they get in different parts of the world.

Sorry but all Wii games manufactured to be bought and played in their separate region. Its just like trying to play a PS3 game on a Wii. It just wont work. Your only safe options are to buy a Wii from the US and play it on that or try to find the game in your area. Hacking is dangerous and even though im a hacker (friendly) i don't recommend it to anyone. the third option would be using the HB channel to load the game though the USB loader. its region free so you could play the game on your wii but... It might flicker It might be colorless Downloading the HB channel is even most risky than its ever been so don't try it. you've been warned
