I absolutely love Ireland; I terribly want to visit. But I've always wondered, what are some negatives about it? :]

I have lived all my life in Ireland and its a fantastic country. The only two negatives I can really think of are that it rains ALOT and its very expensive. We always say here "It'd be a great little country if you could only roof it!"

1- The Weather (Might aswell blend the whole year into one season, WINTER!) 2- Its Expensive (The cost of living has been dramatically coming down though?) 3- Infrastructure (The roads in the country= bad, [potholes, windy, tight + dirty] But in the major towns and cities all is in order :) BUT.. Overall Ireland's a nice country.. except for the weather >:(

The weather it rains so much and its so cold even in the Summer, sometimes the weather can be great but for the most part its cold and wet. It is so expensive, were one of the most expensive countries in Europe. The government, they are greedy, lieing, brain dead idiots and for some reason there are all really old, dog ugly and most of them are obese. Gay marriages and abortions are illegal here. The scumbags. there everywhere. The recession hit here really bad, there are no jobs, business's are closing down, and people are losing there jobs and having there hours cut. U2. The transport system here isn't that great and is over priced. Thats all I can think of right now.

the politicians, price of fags, price of drugs, price of drink, price of food and price of everything really! popular night clubs are pretty crap too. it rains a bit yeah, but i actually dont mind the rain. only bad thing about it is that its unpredicatable so u always gotta carry a jacket or an umbrella. ya i love ireland, im irish and always lived here. oh and watch out for potholes and ridiculously slow speed limits in places. our police are dickheads and some people can be really miserable sometimes but i suppose thats no different to anywhere.

At the moment, the economy. In general, although it's the weather that plays a part in making Ireland how it is, a few more sunny (or at least not rainy) days wouldn't go amiss. Lastly, the roads, it takes me 1 hour to travel 9 miles to work (longer if there has been an accident or a broken down lorry, which frequently happens)

some of us are becoming more and more unfriendly to foreigners who have settled here because they are apparently 'stealing our jobs' i received a barrage of thumbs down for one of my answers in which i defended them. Also, Our health service is in complete disaray.
