I'm not actually from the US but I think Oregon or somewhere on the northern coast of California (e.g. San Fran. as the poster above suggested) would be nice to live (from when I've visited). I would recommend you travel around a bit before deciding on a place too. See where you can get a job, what suits your life style (e.g. if you're into big cities over small towns or vice versa)

Come to the University of Iowa (just because I went there and it was awesome) But really you should go somewhere scenic like Colorado or New York.

The USA is huge and there is not one "best" part of the country. That is also greatly a matter of opinion. For you, it means deciding if you want somewhere like home or somewhere very different. There are thousands of colleges and universities in the USA and foreign sutdents can attend almost all of them. The choices are very wide, from enormous state universities to very small private colleges - and everything in between. All of them will have websites. Research parts of the USA that you might want to live in and focus on about 6 of them. Then re-post your quesiton. Examples of schools in my area are: http://www.lsu.edu/ http://www.loyno.edu/ http://www.olhcc.edu/ http://www.tulane.edu/ http://www.uno.edu/ Good luck!

New York is the best. It has the perfect seperation of seasons and its home of New York City!! Try to live on/near long island. You have the beach 10 minutes away and the city 10 minutes away. Its the best of both worlds. Expensive though, but not unreasonable for all long island has to offer.

Somewhere in the Midwest...Minneapollis is nice, mabey Wisconsin or Michigan. Try for a suburb because the city can be crazy sometimes. They have both seasons in the midelwest--extreme winters and extreme summers-- so thats nice you can play in the snow in the winter and soak up the sun in the summer. Don't go to FL unless you like bugs and humidity But if you want a place w/ a steadier year round climate... california is nice Also I dont like NY very much..iy's very crowded.
