I am an American Citizen Wanting to live Temporarily in Ireland ...?
I am an American Citizen Wanting to live in Ireland just for a year or so for to experience it but then I am planning on coming back to the States. My question is can I work while living there? What do I need to do to be able to work legally there? Help?

Getting a work visa in any European country is very difficult. You may be interested in the "Working Holiday" visa which allows you to live, work, travel in Ireland for up to one year. See site below to research visa requirements and/or contact the embassy.

Sorry, but were full!

Check out the department of foreign affairs website for info on visa's & work permits- "www.dfa.ie" The problem is finding work, at the moment jobs are a bit scarce. What I'd recommend trying one of the US multi nationals to see if they do an internship. You could try one of the following - Microsoft, Intel, Bank of New York, Bank of America. But it's best to find something before you arrive.

Ya see, it's all very well in theory but in practice you might find it difficult enough to get a job. At the last count there's about 400,000 ahead of you in the queue.

DOES ANYONE READ THE INTERNATIONAL NEWS HERE IN AMERICA??? Ireland has the second highest unemployment rate, behind Spain. IF your from America, you will not get work. If your a lottery winner or have a really big inheritance, by all means go for it.
