How about some personal responsibility- buy your booze the day before.

That's why I keep a very large stash of alcoholic inventory in my house.

I guess you should have bought enough alcohol before hand. If this isn't a new law, then why are you whining?
4 :
buy it before hand. its what everyone else does. PLAN AHEAD.

The Republic of Ireland is a theocracy - like Iran or Syria. Selling condoms was illegal there until the 1970's, and abortion is still illegal under most circumstances. It is how the Irish want it.

Stock up on Thursday. Can you buy birth control in Ireland now? That restriction seemed like a much greater inconvenience.

I don't understand why people whine so much about "fair". Fair is not something nature put into place; fair is an entirely human concept, and a subjective concept at that. If laws are not Christian enough, people whine. If they are not secular enough, other people whine. If they are not diverse enough people whine; if they are too diverse other people whine. One person sees a law and deems it fair; others think the same law is unjust. They are what they are; if you don't like them try to change them. If you are overruled by the political system, deal with it. Move if you don't like it; or buy it on Thursday next year.

Ha, an Irish friend complained about that a few hours ago. I don't drink but if I was a drinker, I'd stock up the day before.

Every dog on the street knows you need to stock up on thursday... Hop on a train or catch a theatrical show, or book into a hotel if you are desperate :D those are the only loopholes

It's not like they kept it a secret or anything...why didn't you stock up yesterday?
11 :
Not at all. Even Catholics aren't forbidden to drink on Good Friday.

You should have bought some yesterday.
