Where can I find families to live with in the western part of Ireland

Where can I find families to live with in the western part of Ireland?
I'm trying to work on my Irish language skills. (I'm an American.) And I was wondering if there were any organizations that allowed students to travel to Ireland and live with a family in an Irish-speaking community. Thanks.

I found a link to the Canadian site... and if this is the first of my replies you've seen, then keep reading down and you'll understand! http://www.ckjm.ca/english/home/index.cfm?id=82 There are not as many adult opportunities for staying with families, although you don't actually say what age you are. This address and number below is one of the best schools in the country and you should contact them with specific questions. But if you're younger and want to spend money, I'd say you can do two things. I would recommend visiting the gaeltachts(areas where Irish is still spoken on an everyday basis) in Galway or Donegal on holiday for a few weeks and stay in a tent or a hostel for the time. B and B's are expensive but the landlady will not hesitate to 'immerse you' in the language if you'd like. It might be even cheaper than attending courses but of course it depends on how well you learn by yourself. there are lectures and courses in north america too. This website below details some traveling courses you might be interested in: http://www.daltai.com/events.htm (though here the last entry seems only applicable) And there's a town in Canada which has now been designated a gaeltacht too. Here's some info, and sorry for using Wiki... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Permanent_North_American_Gaeltacht Below is the address of the Donegal school... Cumann an Phiarsaigh, Ballyconnell, Falcarragh, Co. Donegal Emphasis on catering for the family. Inquiries to: Cumann an Phiarsaigh An Chnoc Muineachán Co. What is my nationality if I am Russian and live in Ireland permanently

What is my nationality if I am Russian and live in Ireland permanently?
People in Ireland (especially Irish) often ask what is my nationality. I generally avoid this question because saying that I am Russian makes me stand out as different. Having lived in Ireland for seven years and saying that I am from Russia Irish immediately think like I am just two hours came straight from airport and have no knowledge of Irish culture. Would it be more reasonable to say that I am from Ireland or naturalized Irish at least, which is better, any comments?

Are you a full citizen or Ireland? Irish Green Card equivalent? If so, then you're Irish by the Blessing of Gawd!
2 :
Your nationality is Russian, but you can say "I'm from Russian descent, but I've lived in Ireland awhile". Or, you can be whatever you want. If you're Irish in your heart, be Irish!
3 :
Your nationality is Russian unless you are an Irish citizen. Then your nationality becomes Irish but your ethnicity remains Russian.
4 :
Be proud of your Russian heritage! Say you are Russian by birth, Irish by choice.
5 :
it depends on which country you're a citizen of. if you're still a Russian citizen, i would say you're Russian but have lived in Ireland for awhile. if you have a Russian accent that would explain the curiosity.
6 :
If you are a naturalized citizen of Ireland, your nationality is Irish. If you are a dual national and still have citizenship in Russia, your nationality is both Irish and Russian. Your nationality is Irish while you are of Russian descent.

Where is the best place to live in Ireland

Where is the best place to live in Ireland?
As an american, I sit and dream about a life quite different than the fast pace, work-aholic life style that seems common ground here in america. I regard myself as more of a simple girl that would like to enjoy my life to the fullest. Therefore, I would like to know if I were to move to Ireland, which city/county would give me the best social life, best home for my dollar and all around best place to live. I'm also an avid vegeterian and wondering if anyone could point out good vegeterian restaurants and options in Irealand. If anyone could help me, that would be great! Thanks!
